Introduction

This Privacy Policy does not govern the privacy practices of independent installers, retail partners, or third-party platforms once you interact with them directly. Those parties operate independently and are responsible for their own privacy practices.
Install Genie acts as an independent business and does not act as a joint controller of personal information processed independently by installers or retail partners outside of the Services.
This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, which govern your use of the Services.
This Privacy Policy governs information practices only and does not describe or create service standards, warranties, guarantees, or obligations relating to installation services.

- Payment, tax, and payout-related information necessary for coordination, tax reporting, compliance, and installer compensation, which may include W-9 information, taxpayer identification information, ACH or bank account information, payment account details, payout status, and related records processed through our payment, tax, or payout service providers.
- Records related to participation, suspension, or removal from our platform
Information relating to installer performance, feedback, compliance, or activity is used solely to determine eligibility for participation and continued access to the Services, and not to provide employment evaluations, rankings, or guarantees.
Installation Media Collection
We may receive photos or videos captured by independent installers documenting installation work. This media may include images of the installation area, equipment, and completed work.
This information may be used for coordination, recordkeeping, completion verification, payout review, customer support, dispute resolution, internal business purposes, website content, advertising, social media, and other marketing or promotional purposes consistent with the Services.
Install Genie uses reasonable efforts not to intentionally display unrelated personal, private, or sensitive information, including house numbers, license plates, people not relevant to the installation, or other identifying details, where reasonably practicable.
Install Genie does not use such media to supervise or direct installation work.
Payment Information
Payments are processed through third-party payment processors. Install Genie does not store full credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or other sensitive payment credentials on its own servers.
Information We Receive From Retail Partners
In some cases, retail partners may refer customers to Install Genie for installation services.
When this occurs, we may receive limited customer information from the retail partner, such as:
- Name
- Contact information
- Product or order reference information
- Installation location
This information is used solely to contact the customer and coordinate requested installation services.
Install Genie may also maintain aggregate or summary information related to retail partner referrals, such as the number of referrals, volume trends, or service status counts, for operational reporting, relationship management, analytics, and internal business purposes. Such information is not used to profile individual customers.

Nothing in this Privacy Policy creates or implies a duty by Install Genie to supervise, control, or guarantee the performance, conduct, or outcomes of any installation services.
SMS Communications
Install Genie may communicate with customers via SMS (text message) regarding appointments, scheduling updates, service coordination, customer support, and other service-related communications (collectively, “Service Communications”). Message frequency varies depending on your interaction with the Services, and message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message. Advertising, Analytics, and Lookalike Audiences

This information is typically hashed or encrypted by the advertising platform and used only to support Install Genie’s advertising campaigns.
Such advertising activities are conducted solely for Install Genie’s own marketing purposes and not for the independent use or benefit of advertising platforms. We do not permit advertising partners to use personal information to build profiles unrelated to Install Genie’s Services, and we do not use uploaded information to identify individuals outside of the advertising platforms’ permitted matching processes.

Installers and Independent Service Providers
By requesting installation services through the Platform, you expressly acknowledge and agree that your information will be shared with one or more independent installers involved in evaluating or performing your requested services.
Install Genie does not make employment decisions and does not act as an employer with respect to installers.
Once an installer and a customer are connected, Install Genie does not control and is not responsible for how installers independently collect, use, or retain personal information outside of the Services.
Retail Partners
Where a customer is referred to Install Genie by a retail partner, or where coordination with a retail partner is necessary to complete a requested service, we may share limited customer information with that retail partner for purposes of coordinating installation services, including scheduling, service status, or completion confirmation. We do not share detailed installer communications, pricing terms, or sensitive personal information unless required for service coordination, legal compliance, or with the customer’s consent.
Retail partners do not control Install Genie’s operations, and Install Genie does not act as an agent of any retail partner.
Service Providers
We may share information with trusted third-party service providers that assist us in operating our business, including payment processors, payout providers, tax documentation providers, insurance verification providers, scheduling platforms, form providers, background screening providers, customer support tools, hosting providers, analytics providers, performance monitoring providers, and advertising service providers. These parties are required to protect such information in accordance with their contractual obligations and applicable law.
Installer insurance, tax, and payout information may be collected directly by Install Genie or through third-party service providers used for insurance verification, tax documentation, payment setup, ACH authorization, and installer payouts. These providers may collect and process information directly from installers under their own terms and privacy policies. Install Genie may receive status updates, verification results, compliance records, payout records, and related operational information from these providers for purposes of determining installer eligibility, maintaining platform compliance, and administering installer compensation.
Legal and Compliance Purposes
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Install Genie, our users, or others.
Data Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
